October 7-11, 2025
Day 1
- Arrive in Ucluelet at the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort, check in time is 5pm. 
- 6:00 - 9:00 pm Welcome reception in the Wine Cellar. 
Day 2
- 8:00 - 9:00 am - Breakfast buffet in Wine Cellar 
- 9:00-10:30 am - Fireside chat with Dr. Pooja Lakshmin on Real Self-Care 
- 10:30 am - 11:30 pm - Dr. Pooja Lakshmin book signing 
- 11:30 - 1:30 pm - Lunch (included) 
- 1:30-3:00 pm - Boundaries that Stick - Saying No Without the Guilt 
- 3:00-4:00 pm - Naming the System - Why Burnout Isn’t Your Fault 
- 4:00-5:00 pm - Clarifying Your Values

Wellness program description:
Real Self-Care in Veterinary Medicine: Finding Your Why
This transformative continuing education course, inspired by Dr. Pooja Lakshmin’s Real Self-Care, blends evidence-based mental health strategies with practical tools for veterinary professionals. Through guided reflection, interactive group exercises, and expert-led discussions—including a special session with Dr. Lakshmin—participants will explore values-based decision-making, boundaries, and sustainable self-care practices rooted in internal change. Reconnect with your purpose, combat burnout, and redefine what it means to care for yourself—without guilt.
Day 3
- 7:00 - 8:00 am - Breakfast at your convenience (voucher provided) 
- Transportation to Tofino leaves around 8:15 am and heads back to Ucluelet around 4:30 pm 
- 8:00am -4:00 pm - Excursion or Solo Time - Hot Springs Tour starts at 10:00 am 
- Whale Watching Tour starts at 9:30 am 
 
- 6:00 - 9:00 pm - Evening group session on Finding Your Why - Reconnecting with Purpose - Late Night Snack Provided 
 
Day 4
- 8:00 - 9:00 am - Breakfast Buffet (included) 
- 9:00am -12:00 pm Medical program with Dr. Hamel and Dr. Hooi 
- 12:00-2:00 pm - Lunch at Current’s Restaurant 
- 2:00 - 4:00 pm - Medical program with Dr. Hamel and Dr. Hooi 
- 6:00 - 9:00 pm - Buffet Dinner (included)

- Diagnostic and management updates for dogs and cats with chronic gastrointestinal disease 
- Imaging and management options for upper and lower urinary tract stones and lower urinary tract disorders 
- Diagnostic imaging choices, investigative testing for cats and dogs with chronic coughing. 
- Diagnostic Dilemmas: When the Bloodwork Doesn’t Match the Picture 
Day 5
