For the Scotland retreat in October 2026, there will be 16-20 credit hours of RACE (pending) approved CE.

Your retreat registration includes:
16–20 hours of high-quality continuing education, with a certificate of completion
On-site accommodation at our exclusive Scotland retreat venue, the Innes House, is included in the retreat price
Welcome reception to open the retreat
Three meals daily on full program days, with adjusted meal scheduling on arrival and departure days
Daily snacks and refreshment breaks, with tea, coffee, and non-alcoholic beverages available throughout the day
A thoughtfully curated Off the Beaten Path swag bag
A specially curated closing-night experience during the final dinner — an immersive and light-hearted evening designed to celebrate connection, curiosity, and a bit of fun.
Alcoholic beverages are not included unless specifically noted.

Whether you require gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan or allergy-sensitive meals, we work closely with our venues and caterers to ensure your dietary preferences are respected and your meals are both safe and satisfying. Please let us know your requirements in advance so we can provide the best possible experience.

Yes — family members and companions are very welcome to join you and enjoy the extraordinary setting of the Scottish Highlands. While all retreat guests are invited to participate in meals and select group experiences, lectures and continuing education sessions are reserved exclusively for registered veterinary participants.
Non-DVM companions and children must be registered under the appropriate companion package. These packages allow them to share in the retreat atmosphere while preserving the integrity of the continuing education experience.

Off the Beaten Path Veterinary RetreatsBecause our retreats are intentionally small, curated, and involve significant upfront commitments to venues, faculty, and local partners, we are unable to offer full refunds once a reservation is confirmed. We strongly encourage all participants to obtain comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation and interruption coverage.
Participant Cancellations
More than 180 days prior to the retreat start date
A refund of payments made minus a $750 USD administrative fee will be issued.179–120 days prior to the retreat start date
A 50% refund of payments made will be issued.119 days or fewer prior to the retreat start date
No refunds will be issued.
Transfers & Substitutions
Registration may be transferred to another eligible participant (e.g., another licensed veterinarian or approved attendee) up to 60 days prior to the retreat, subject to approval and a $250 USD transfer fee.
The original registrant is responsible for identifying a suitable replacement.
Transfers requested within 60 days of the retreat cannot be guaranteed due to accommodation and accreditation requirements.
Non-DVM Companion & Child Packages
Companion and child packages follow the same cancellation timeline as the primary registrant.
If the primary registrant cancels, associated companion packages are automatically cancelled and subject to the same refund terms.
Retreat Modifications or Cancellation by Organizer
In the unlikely event that Off the Beaten Path Veterinary Retreats must cancel the retreat due to unforeseen circumstances (including but not limited to venue issues, speaker illness, or force majeure), participants will be offered either:
A full refund of retreat fees paid, or
The option to transfer payments to a future Off the Beaten Path retreat
Off the Beaten Path Veterinary Retreats is not responsible for airfare, accommodations booked independently, or other travel expenses.
Travel Insurance Recommendation
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers:
Trip cancellation
Trip interruption
Medical emergencies
Weather-related delays
This protects both you and the integrity of our retreat experience.

Participation in Off the Beaten Path Veterinary Retreats (the "Retreat") involves travel, physical activities, and continuing education programming in various settings. By registering for and attending a Retreat, participants acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved in such activities.
Assumption of Risk
Participants understand that any travel, physical activity, or interaction with animals and the natural environment carries certain risks. These may include, but aren't limited to, minor injuries, illness, allergic reactions, accidents, or unforeseen natural events. By choosing to participate, attendees voluntarily assume all such risks.
Medical Disclaimer
Off the Beaten Path Veterinary Retreats does not provide medical , mental health, or veterinary advice during its events. While educational content may touch on these subjects, all information presented is for educational purposes only and does not substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. Participants are responsible for their own physical and mental well-being during the retreat.
Personal Responsibility
Participants are solely responsible for their personal safety, belongings, and conduct throughout the Retreat. Any damage caused by a participant to property or harm to others will be the sole responsibility of that individual.
Limitations of Liability
Off the Beaten Path Veterinary Retreats, its organizers, facilitators, contractors, and affiliated venues are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, delay, or expense incurred by a participant as a result of participation in a Retreat. This includes but is not limited to losses resulting from cancellations, transportation issues, weather, illness, personal injury or property damage.
Insurance
Participants are encouraged to carry personal health, travel, and liability insurance that covers them during the dates of the Retreat. Off the Beaten Path Veterinary Retreats does not provide individual insurance coverage.
By attending the Retreat, all participants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Off the Beaten Path Veterinary Retreats and its affiliates from any claims or liabilities arising out of their participation.
